The National Parks Service released an incredible video of 4-foot waves forming on the surface of Devil’s Hole in Death Valley National Park. The waves were created by a 7.6 magnitude earthquake that originated in Mexico.
Devil’s Hole is actually a water-filled cavern that is over 500 ft. deep in a detached part of Death Valley National Park just over the border in Nevada. It’s the habitat for only naturally occurring population of the endangered Devils Hole Pupfish.
Devil’s Hole’s waters are known to slosh around when violent earthquakes rock the surrounding area. Check out the incredible video below:
