Since opening in 2020, Bluebird Backcountry in Colorado has become one of the most unique skiing experiences in the country. Since their grand opening, they have continuously added new terrain to the experience. This week, they announced that they are introducing multiple lodging options, although it should be noted that you aren’t exactly staying at the Ritz Carlton. With zero commute to the skin track though, staying on the mountain sounds worth it.

Their lodging options include skin-to domes that are within two miles from the base area, basecamp domes that sleep up to five people, a Campfire Micro Cabin, the Brown Bear Cabins (located within 1/4 miles of the base area) that come with two double beds, a hostel-style cabin with five double beds, and various camping options around the base area.

The amenities for the skin-to-huts include a private kitchen and a compostable toilet. For the base area cabins and huts, the services include a shared kitchen, port-a-potty toilets, and food options that are available in the base lodge. Bluebird recommends that guests bring sleeping bags, a headlamp, water, and snacks.

While these overnight accommodations have limited amenities, it’s a true backcountry experience, which honestly is the perfect match for Colorado’s newest ski resort. Image Credits: Bluebird Backcountry
