The Burmese Python is not native to Florida, but wildlife experts estimate there could be over a million pythons living throughout the state.

It’s believed that these huge snakes first entered Everglades National Park en masse when exotic animal collectors released them into the wild back in the 1980s. The snakes have now established a breeding population, and they’re considered to be one of the most dangerous species to Florida’s ecosystem.

Three amateur snake hunters recently scored the catch of a lifetime when they wrangled a 17-foot, 10-inch, 104lb. python in Collier County, FL.
