One of New Hampshire’s most historic ski resorts is in the process of a base area makeover. The Kearsarge Brooks Condominiums brought slopeside accommodations to the resort, the new Artist Falls Lodge added new ticketing and a restaurant to their base, and a Fairfield Inn by Mariott hotel will be opening at their base area this November. Its next addition though will arguably be its most important yet. Yesterday, Cranmore broke ground on their new $20 million, 30,000 square foot base lodge. The first two floors will feature day skier facilities like “a new food pavilion, slope-side bar, day and season-long lockers, restrooms, a café, and ski accessories shop.” The lodge will also have photos and banners of Cranmore’s illustrious history. The third and fourth floors will feature fifteen two-story condominiums that “will range in size from 1,419 to 1,933 square feet for 2- to 3-bedroom homes and 2,360 square feet for the 4-bedroom penthouse.” Some of the amenities will include “a master suite bedroom and bath, spacious kitchen and dining area, and living room with large windows that span across Cranmore’s South and North Slope or feature sunset views.”

The lodge will open in phases: the first floor will be open for the 2022-23 season. The second floor and the condominiums will be ready for the 2023-24 season. It’s not clear what the fate will be for the old lodge, along with the beloved Zip’s Pub, which has one of the best après scenes in New England.
