Dr. Anthony Fauci sat down to dispel some rumors and give us some straight talk about the current state of affairs, including how and when we might start seeing professional sports being played again. As the good doctor says, there is a clear path to bringing sporting events back online and it involves empty venues, sequestered athletes in spacious hotels and tons of testing. As for professional skiing/snowboarding (alpine/freestyle), I believe these spectatorless protocols could be met quite easily and it comes down to the economics of TV viewership to keep things as close to pre-pandemic status quo for the upcoming season of professional mountain sports.
