Virginia — The 2020s have been busy for Massanutten Resort. New terrain and lifts have made the Virginia ski resort a stronger winter destination. Amid these and future changes, the Virginia ski resort has announced a rebrand.
This week, Massanutten Resort announced a rebrand, which includes new logos, a revised website, and a trail map. Designed by WLF Studio, the logo changes with the season, showing it’s a year-round destination, not just a winter one.
“We wanted to create something that honored Massanutten’s history while giving us the flexibility to tell a much bigger story,” said Drew Hurst, Director of Resort Marketing at Massanutten Resort. “The four M’s represent the four seasons and everything the mountain has to offer. What excites us most is how the mark can come to life through seasonal colors, animation, and creative storytelling. WLF Studio has been an incredible creative partner throughout this process. Their ability to understand our vision and bring it to life across both the brand identity and website has been instrumental in creating a cohesive, dynamic experience that reflects who we are today and where we’re headed.”
The launch also coincides with the Kids Ski Free promotion, which is being offered for a limited time.
Recent & Future Additions
From 2021 to 2024, the ski resort saw various upgrades. In 2021, they redesigned their beginner area, installed a new magic carpet, and added a small advanced trail. In 2022, Massanutten introduced a few new runs (intermediate and advanced). In 2023, they added a high-speed chairlift to the summit and a double-black-diamond trail.
Off-slope additions have also been a recent focus. This includes a new pickleball complex and Virginia’s first mountain coaster.
Big changes are on the horizon for Massanutten. In 2027, a 25,000-square-foot indoor waterpark expansion will open. Shortly afterward, the Shenandoah H2O will open, a 140-room hotel adjacent to the waterpark. Additionally, more trails are planned for the ski resort. For now, what that will consist of is uncertain.
