Ski season is in full swing across North America, with resorts across the United States and Canada running chair lifts for the first time. Now with a greater array of places open for skiing and snowboarding, we’d like to highlight the great conditions currently in order at Sunshine Village.
Sunshine Village Ski Resort in Banff, Alberta kicked off the 2018-2019 season on November 9th with fantastic early season conditions. Opening day offered eager skiers and riders 7 chairlifts, 26 runs and a terrain park to explore. So far Sunshine Village has received 41″ of snow for the season and is sitting on a respectable 27″ base at this time.
- Surface Conditions: Variable
- Percentage Open: 18%
- Terrain Parks: 1
- Number of Lifts: 7
Sunshine Village is poised to receive more snow this week, along with the other SkiBig3 ski resorts; Mt. Norquay and Lake Louise. Hopefully this is all shaping up for a big snowfall winter and the ability to open more terrain in the Banff region soon.
Overall Mid-November is a big time for the ski industry as many resorts are operating for the first time this coming week. Major openings include Vail, Stowe and Grand Targhee all on November 16th. If you can’t wait any longer to start making turns for this season, the good news is you now have a lot more places open to visit.
