New Snow – 21-80″ | Season Total – 27″ (*main lodge) | Surface Conditions – Fresh Powder
Mammoth Mountain is reporting 6 FEET of new snow at its summit and lift ops are digging out in earnest with hopes of opening some upper mountain terrain over the weekend.
Meanwhile, the lower elevations have seen a wintry mix but as the skies begin to clear today, expect temps to drop into the evening before calmer weather and clear skies arrive tomorrow. That mild weather will last until Monday when another system is expected to move into the area.
Mammoth Mountain Snow Report:
Since yesterday afternoon, we picked up another 9″ of new snow at Main Lodge and Ski Patrol just reported over 6 FEET at the summit from this storm. New storm total is now 21-80″ in the last two days.
This snow is the perfect base to really kick this winter into gear and more terrain and lifts will as quickly and safely as conditions allow with Stump Alley Express expected to open this afternoon. Strong winds and stormy skies are forecast to subside this afternoon and clear into the weekend. Early season obstacles do still exist so always ski and ride with caution and stay on marked trails.
