Professional skateboarder Cory Kennedy is under investigation after a car crash on Vashon Island resulted in the death of 45 year-old skateboarding filmographer Preston “P-Stone” Maigetter reports The Seattle Times.
Police reports indicate that Kennedy was allegedly driving under the influence at the time of the accident. Kennedy’s car collided with a guard rail and subsequently hit a tree at high speeds around 10:30pm. A third person was in the car at the time and was later transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.
Kennedy’s BAC was measured by a breathalizer at .10 and .11. The legal limit is .08.
Kennedy and Maigetter were reportedly long-time friends and it bears noting that perhaps nobody is suffering more, save for P-Stone’s family, than the pro skateboarder himself. The two were both a part of the Girls Skateboard Team and had produced numerous segments together in the past 5 years.
*Our deepest condolences go out to the victim’s friends and family.
