Located smack dab in the middle of New Zealand’s southern island, Mt Dobson is an under-the-radar gem that’s already benefited from serious snowfall this season. So much so, resort officials are opening the ski area a full 3 weeks ahead of schedule.

“We’re opening three weeks ahead of schedule. This Saturday 18th June in fact!!”Mt Dobson Facebook Post

That news is all thanks to a winter storm that delivered sweet snowy relief to many of the southern island’s ski areas over the past week. As of now, Mt Dobson will only be open on the weekends and available terrain will include Fairlie Ridge T-Bar along with the beginners area. The resort will begin full week operations starting on July 2nd.
