This just in: the sky in Washington likes to precipitate. A lot. While things might not be piling up, it is perpetually raining, snowing, snaining, or misting in the wet and wild state of Washington. Overnight crystal received 2 inches overnight and made for dust on crust chunder off the Northback, but the upper elevation harbored some very wet and heavy pow that made for some fun snow sliding. A warming on Saturday and hard overnight freeze made for some firm conditions Sunday. At this point, anything that has been skied has turned to frozen rubble, but the hike to side country is still ripping!

If you’re looking to take a trip up towards the Pacific North West, Crystal is a highly recommended must. Given more favorable conditions, the terrain at Crystal would be more than a little playful. There are spines, bonks, and cliffs to keep even the most dedicated Squaw huck monkeys busy.

With the recent addition of a Gondola to access the top, accessing the goods is easier than ever. Astounding views of Mt. Rainier serve as icing on the mountain top. Complement all this with an open boundary policy and you’ve got yourself a good time for a few days, a few weeks, or perhaps even a few season!!
