Looks like there is a good chance of some snow latter in the weekend and a cold front coming in with it. Should be cold for a good part of the week with some nice weather. The biggest event this week is definitely the Ouray Ice Festival going on through the weekend. This is the 16th year of the fest and should be a great time. The reggae continues with The Llama bringing some solid bands tonight and tomorrow, after JBB threw down last night. Great stuff!
Friday, Jan. 7 – Tron: Legacy opens at the Nugget. Playing through Thursday at 5:30 & 8. It is not playing in 3D, you have to go to Montrose for that, but still should be some awesome eye candy. Daft Punk did the soundtrack as well! NuggetTheatre.com
Friday, Jan. 7 – Night Terrain Park now open at Telluride. Open Thursday-Sundays from 4-8pm. Tickets to use the park are $20 per night or $79 for a Night 2 Park Season Pass. It’s a shame you have to pay additional to use this even if you have a season pass, seems ridiculous!
Friday, Jan. 7 – Tubby Love @ The Llama. $5 @ 10pm. These guys are described as a reggae-soul-fusion band and are all Berklee College of Music students or alums. Some of their music sounds good on their MySpace, check them out.
Saturday, Jan.8 – 16th Annual Ouray Ice Festival Competition. 9am-3pm. This is the main event at the festival, featuring the best climbers in the world competing on Ouray’s famous ice. Saturday, Jan. 8 – Dubskin & Euforquestra @ The Llama. $10 @ 10pm. These guys are back in town after playing the conference center last month. This time they will be playing The Llama. Good times! Free downloads of their albums are available on their website – dubskinmusic.com.
