Thanks to Dorian Densmore for putting together and sending us this awesome little spotlight video of one of Las Leñas’ local legends: Alejo Sanchez.

Alejo Sanchez sleeps less, snowboards more, and goes bigger in life than most anyone I have ever met. He is a super nice guy who has lived his whole life in Argentina, shredding during our (in the northen hemi), summer months. His strong motivation to work hard in the mountains, combined with his love for nighttime activities, make him a really fun person to hang out with, if you can keep up.

This video shows what it is like to spend one day as Alejo, and follow him through Las Lanas ski resort, his home in the wintertime.

This video is the second part of the adventures of Dorian Densmore in South America. Check out the first part here. Once again, Dorianito is out shredding some steep, narrow couloirs with friends. Riders are Dorian, Matthias Weichselbaumer, and myself. Editing by Dorian, Adri Millan, and Josh the Vegetable. Yeah Dorian, looking forward to the next installment.

This is Las Leñas in the spring at it’s finest.

First, some big, easy access couloirs in perfect corn.

Next, the annual fashion show. Of course, we use the term “Fashion Show” loosely here. Fashion implies that items of clothing are being modeled, when in reality the models are wearing as little clothing as possible. But hey, “Fashion Show” sounds less creepy than “A Ski Resort Full of Guys Leering at Girls Strutting Around in Little To No Clothing.”

Things are winding down here in Las Leñas. The resort will be closing up this weekend, and there is less snow in the valley than I have ever seen.

Here is a video from our last mini storm of the season at the end of August. Riders are Zach Paley, Mike Uhrin, Matthias Weichelsbaumer, Simon Felix, and myself. Lines are Human Error, Entre Rios, Sans Nom, Collar, and Casco.

Time to enjoy spring and start getting ready for winter 2012 – 2013!
