After a slow start to the season, Las Leñas had a solid bounce-back weekend. On Friday and Saturday, the Argentinian ski resort got dumped on. On Saturday afternoon, Las Leñas reported that they had received a meter (3.28 feet) of snow from the storm.
PowderQuest captured photos and videos from the storm, and it looked epic.
Most of the terrain that’s currently open is in the Sector 2 terrain pod. Their backcountry terrain is open, but it currently has a noticeable avalanche risk. On Sunday, they opened up the Caris, Minerva I, and II lifts. The following lifts are currently open: Ts Neptune, Tk Eros I, Ts Venus, Tk Eros II, Tk Minerva, Ts Minerva, Ts Caris, Ts Vesta, and Ts Volcano. For reference, Tk stands for a chairlift, and Ts is a surface lift.
Storms like this are what dreams are made of in Argentina. ¡Es el momento!
