Kayaker paddles down the steepest waterfall section in the world.

Ride along with freestyle kayak world champion, Dane Jackson as he takes on this vertigo inducing section of water in Mexico’s Santa Domingo Canyon. With 4 waterfalls spanning 300 vertical feet in just 1/5 mile, this section of river is the steepest navigable whitewater sequence in the world. The first drop of the series is Angel Wings Falls which stands at 80 feet. Incredible footage, Dane is an absolute savage.

About Santo Domingo Gorge:

The Santo Domingo Gorge is located near Chiapas, Mexico and is an incredible area for elite kayakers looking to take on highly technical waterfalls. The gorge has a vertical drop of nearly 800 feet in span just over 2 miles. The steepest section drops 300 feet in .2 miles.

This section features four main drops starting with Angel Wing Falls (80 feet) followed by The Dome (85 feet) then The Toboggan (65 feet) and finally Raw Dog (35 feet). Each falls has its own unique set of challenges and linking them together is task fit for only the best whitewater athletes in the world.
