Kyrgyzstan Ali-Too is the biggest new ski resort project that you probably haven’t heard of. Situated in Kyrgyzstan, the country is working with various ski industry staples, such as Doppelmayr, to make the region’s biggest ski resort. We have seen details about the developments, but not many visuals of the construction. That changed this month thanks to Central Asian news outlets.

AKIpress News reports that on July 2nd, Krygestan held an opening ceremony for two of the lifts. The President of the country, Sadyr Japarov, was there to mark the occasion. One of the lifts, B1, is 1,727 meters (5,666 feet) long. That lift is a chondola/telemix lift, with gondola cabins and bubble chairs. The other lift, B2, has a length of 2,296 meters (approximately 7,533 feet).

Various infrastructure pieces are currently under construction. This includes water, drainage systems, protective netting, and power supplies.

The infrastructure to get to the mountain is also noteworthy. There will be the 65-km-long (approximately 40 miles) Karakol-Zhyrgalan highway and the 14.5-km (9 miles) long Boz-Uchuk-Zhyrgalan road, both of which will be paved. An alternative route is also being built for drivers, totaling 8.5 kilometers (approximately 5 miles).

An English audio track and captions are available.

The first phase of the ski resort will open in December 2026. They aim to open with six lifts, around 47 km (29 miles) of trails, administrative offices, rental shops, and parking areas.

When fully complete, the Jyrgalan sector will feature 120 km (around 75 miles) of trails, and the Ala-Too Resort will have around 250 km (155 miles) of trails. They hope to host 4 million visitors each year.
