Cheers to Jackson Hole athlete Luke Gentry who managed to find some skiable snow in the dog days of the Wyoming summer and score some 4th of July turns. Luke tossed on his shorts and Budweiser cowboy hat for the occasion and celebrated America’s 250th birthday shredding what looks to be a decently sized snow field.
“There is something special about skiing on the Fourth of July, Happy Independence Day everyone!” -Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
While Jackson Hole Mountain Resort celebrated Luke’s dedication, they are quick to point out that skiing inside the resort boundaries is closed for summer. Guests are allowed to ski in the backcountry accessible through our boundary gates located near the top of the Aerial Tram, but as part of JHMR’s special use permit with Bridger Teton National Forest. Guests with ski gear will be allowed to load the Tram, but not the gondolas. When traveling in the backcountry, summer or winter, please have the proper equipment, a partner and a plan.
Again, cheers to Luke for this badass mission to ring in the 4th. Well done!
