Giants Ridge in Biwabik, Minnesota, is offering free skiing for children 12 and under during the 2026-27 winter season, the resort announced Tuesday.
The initiative is part of a broader family-focused push that also includes free night skiing every Thursday from 4 to 8pm. Thursday night sessions are designed to give families a low-barrier entry point for weeknight outings and after-school trips to the slopes.
“As we look back at how Giants Ridge began, it’s clear that affordability and access have always been at the heart of this place. Offering free skiing for kids is a true step toward delivering on that original promise and ensuring that more families can enjoy time together outdoors.” – General Manager Duane Stutzman
“These initiatives are about removing barriers and creating more moments for families to connect. Whether it’s a child’s first run or a quick evening on the hill after work and school, we want Giants Ridge to be the easiest and most welcoming place to make those memories.” – Duane Stutzman
The resort sits in Minnesota’s Iron Range and features 35 trails across 202 skiable acres, with terrain suited for beginners through advanced skiers and snowboarders. They also recently opened a Pool and Sauna Haus on property. The resort is located roughly one hour from Duluth and three hours from the Twin Cities.
