Last year, in an industry where it’s hard to stand out, Renoun Skis created a unique offering.
The introduction of the Renoun Pro membership program last year gave skiers the chance to try out Renoun Skis. The enrollment fee is $445, and then it is $30 per month afterward. Members get a pair of skis once every two years. After the two years, you can either keep your old skis or donate them to a cause. They can swap their pair of skis anytime, though there is a $150 fee to switch it up. These skis are known for their VibeStop technology, which adapts to mountain conditions. These members also get first access to new skis, graphics, and limited-edition pairs.
There are also perks from outside vendors. The membership comes with various discounts and exclusive offers from other brands. These partners include Aspect Avy, Burgeon Outdoor, Carv, Eleven, Mavic, Thuja Outdoor Clothing, Terry, Trew, and ShipSkis. Pro members also get 30% off the RenounPro Marketplace, which includes products from Renoun and other partners.
Then there’s the community that comes along with it. The Renoun Pro app includes the ability to connect with other people who are a part of the program. These connections led to Renoun Pro hosting their first trip last season in the French Alps, among other community meetups.
The only true comparables would be My Epic Gear and Black Tie Premium Rentals. However, that program has you rent previously selected gear at a select number of mountains, while Renoun gives you true ownership of the skis and no hassle with checking in on the mountain.
This program isn’t for everyone, such as those who only go a few times a year. But it’s clearly not trying to be that. It’s for the avid skier who loves a through-ski quiver and likes to frequently update their selection every few years. It’s also for those who want to grow their skiing community past their home mountains.
