Rhinelander, Wisconsin โ It’s been an offseason full of hurdles for the small Camp 10 Ski Area. After a busy winter, nature and critters have wreaked havoc at the ski area over the offseason.
The first ordeal came after a tree fell on the Blue T-Bar lift. This took place during the beginning of the offseason, so Camp 10 didn’t lose any operational time from the lift. Repairs on the lift were completed this offseason.
The second affliction came in their ski patrol building, with critters ravaging through the ceiling. Camp 10 removed the critters and cleaned up that mess.

Then came the most disastrous situation of the bunch. Last week, a lightning strike hit the lift shack on its other T-Bar. Crews had to come in to extinguish the fire. The building is believed to be a complete loss.
WAOW News 9 interviewed Gren Rudd, who’s the President and Ground Manager of Camp 10 Ski Area. According to Rudd, most of the damage happened to the exterior of the shack and the electric motor. Due to the fire, the lift isn’t expected to open this upcoming winter.
How To Help
The ski area is accepting donations, but the best way to support the mountain is to buy season passes and lift tickets this upcoming winter.
