Mars Hill, Maine — One of the New England ski areas that’s improved the most over the past few years is also the region’s easternmost.

BigRock Mountain made notable changes last winter, which included a new quad chairlift and snowmaking upgrades. This winter will also bring notable changes, with perhaps the most notable being the branding. The first change is the new logo, which includes two peaks and a circular sun.

The second change is a beautiful new trail map. The map was hand-drawn by Rad Smith, who has designed trail maps for mountains like Deer Valley, Cardrona Alpine Resort, and Keystone Resort.

Here’s the old trail map; it’s a noticeable improvement.

Other Offseason Projects

Although no formal announcements have been made regarding improvements for the 2025-26 season, some projects have been underway at the mountain, including the completion of the snowmaking pumphouse, the removal of the old Mueller Double chairlift, and the clearing of glades at the ski area.
