We’re properly in the dog days of summer. It’s hot, dry, and for skiers like us, pretty sad. We yearn for the winter. Itch to be on snow. The good news is, those days may be closer than you think. Saddleback Mountain in Maine recently shared yesterday that they’re just 100 days away from their planned start of snowmaking (meaning we’re just 99 days from then on July 31st). If all goes to plan, Saddleback will start their snowmaking around November 7th, 2025.

Snowmaking Countdown

Located in the Rangeley Lakes Region, Saddleback’s anticipated snowmaking start date is just 99 days from now (around early November 2025). Thanks to over $42 million in recent investments, including eco-friendly groomers and $6.5 million in recent snowmaking enhancements , Saddleback can ensure solid conditions throughout the entire ski season. Beyond snowmaking, Saddleback sees an average annual snowfall of 225 inches, making for some top notch skiing and snowboarding at the independent resort.

Saddleback Statistics

Saddleback claims to have the highest base elevation of any ski resort in the east, sitting 2,460 feet. The vertical drop stretches around 2,000 feet, with the summit sitting at 4,120 feet. Over its 600+ skiable acres, the resort offers 68 runs and 6 chairlifts. Plus the mountain features 88 acres of top notch hand-cut glades and 40 acres of gentle slopes and beginner terrain.

With 23 beginner trails, 20 blue trails, 18 black trails, 7 double black trails, and 2 terrain parks, Saddleback has terrain for almost everyone. Four quad chairlifts, a t-bar, and a beginner moving carpet all provide access to the mountain’s many trails.

The ski resort offers 2-5 day ticket packs, providing up to 40% off on lift ticket prices. The Adult Midweek Season Pass costs $759 (as of July 31st, 2025), while the full Adult Winter Season Pass costs $1,199 (as of July 31st, 2025).
