Killington, Vermont — It’s looking like an earlier end to the season than usual for Killington Resort, as the Vermont ski resort has seen warm and wet weather this week that has decimated its snowpack.

Killington Resort announced today that it’ll be closing for the season on Saturday due to heavy rain that is forecasted for tomorrow (Friday, May 9th). They will reopen for one day, Saturday, May 10th. Guest will start their day by riding the K-1 Gondola. From there, they’ll have terrain available off the Canyon Quad, but there will be a decent amount of hiking required to reach the remaining snow patches.

Meanwhile, Jay Peak is also nearing the end of its season, with its goal being to reopen for one more day: Sunday, May 11th.
