Building a new ski lift takes a lot of work. Trees need to be cleared, designs need to be approvaed and components need to be manufactured and transported.

Each and every part of a chairlift needs to be sourced and the massive steel cables that move us up the mountain a critical piece of the puzzle. Enjoy this Doppelmayr Seilbahnen video detailing how over 700 tonnes of steel cable is manufactured and transported up into the mountains for a new chairlift project.

This video is in German, so make sure to turn on subtitles (unless you speak German, in that case Prost). The amount of work isn’t much of a surprise to me but it is pretty crazy to see it all in action.
