For the first time since 2017, the FIS Freeride World Tour is returning to Alaska in 2026 for the YETI Alaska Pro on the legendary spines of Haines.
The event, held in partnership with YETI, will be held in March 2026, bringing the top freeride skiers and snowboarders onto the the towering, technical spines of Haines. With Alaska’s exceptional snow conditions, complex terrain, and steep ridgelines, the event will surely push the limits of freeride.
The Freeride World Tour made stops in Alaska in 2015, 2016, and 2017. It will be one of six stops to make up the 2026 Freeride World Tour, joined by the Baqueira Beret Pro by Movistar, the Val Thorens Pro, the Georgia Pro, the Fieberbrunn Pro, and the YETI Xtreme Verbier by Honda.
“Bringing the Tour back to Alaska has been a dream in the making for years. Haines offers some of the most dramatic and respected terrain in the world—it’s the ultimate freeride venue. With YETI at our side, we’re not just coming back—we’re coming back stronger than ever.” – Nicolas Hale-Woods, CEO & Founder of the Freeride World Tour
The Freeride World Tour has made 11 steps in the United States throughout its history, including the three stops in Alaska. It’s visited Palisades Tahoe, Mammoth Mountain, Kirkwood, Crested Butte, and Snowbird. Sadly it appears that Kicking Horse, the Freeride World Tour’s only North American destination from the past few seasons, has been left off the event schedule for 2026.
