On the evening of April 5, the Wolfe County Search & Rescue was alerted to a female hiker who had suffered a lower leg injury near Copperas Creek Waterfall in Kentucky.

Through her Apple iPhone, the hiker had been able to alert an Apple dispatch center to her need for help, leading the center to call the search and rescue team. The dispatch center shared coordinates the subjects medical condition with the team, allowing members to hike into the location and locate the subject.

Once located, the woman was treated an packaged for transport. As storms were rolling into the area, the crew decided to carry her down the creek avoiding steeper sections of the trail, allowing for a safer and quicker evacuation.

Just as they reacher the trail head, the next evening storm had begun to hit.
