New campground fees are coming to Grand Canyon National Park, with a fee increase for frontcountry standard campsites at Desert View, North Rim, and Mather Campground set to begin on May 1, 2025.

Group sites will remain at $55 per night, but standard campsites will cost $30 per night. Standard tent/RV sites currently cost $18 per night at Mather, Desert View and North Rim Campgrounds.

Grand Canyon National Park retains 80% of recreation fees collected, using the funds to maintain and improve facilities and visitor services throughout the park. Campground repairs and improvements, increasing accessibility, facility restoration, and more are all supported by these fees.

Visitors are now able to make reservations for this spring, summer, and fall at Recreation.gov. Grand Canyon National Park offers both reservable and first-come, first-served campsites. Additionally, those who want to backpack and camp inside the park can do so with a backcountry permit.

The last time Grand Canyon National Park saw a major rate adjustment was in 2005. Public comment on this fee increase was gathered in November and December of 2024.
