Windham, New York — It may not have the biggest vertical drop or the most trails in New York state, but the Windham Mountain Club is now home to one of the most expensive season passes in the country.
The Times Union reports that the initial season pass price points for the 2025-26 season were quite hefty. The Double Diamond pass, which offers access to the ski resort every day of the season, was priced at $2000 for adults. This early price point is a 38% increase compared to the prior season.
The Summit Series Sunday-Friday pass, which gets skiers access to the mountain except on Saturdays, costed $1100. These season passes were only made available for a small number of days, with it being available from March 7-9. Season passes are currently off sale, with them expected to go back on sale in October. According to Windham, the plan is for a slight price increase when they go back on sale.
This season pass is priced much higher than its nearby competitors. The Epic Pass, which provides unlimited access to various ski resorts, like nearby Hunter Mountain, costs $1051. A season pass solely to Belleayre costs $729. The Ski3 pass, which provides unlimited access to Belleayre, Gore, and Whiteface, costs $899. The full Ikon Pass, which includes access to competitors like Stratton, costs $1329. All of these passes are still on sale.
Speaking of the Ikon Pass, another interesting Windham decision is that it won’t be on the Ikon Pass for the 2025-26 season. Since the ownership transition, it’s become trickier for Ikon passholders to access Windham Mountain. Reservations have been required for Ikon passholders, and the weekend spots tend to sell out quickly.
However, various season pass options were reasonably priced. The Monday-Friday and College passes were priced at $550, the Local Heroes (firefighters, police officers, and other nearby service members) and the Local Business passes had a cost of $450.
Elizabeth Cunningham, who’s the spokesperson of Windham Mountain Club, explained the ski resort’s clientele to the Times Union:
“Moving forward, the property will focus on long-term visits, daily tickets, pass holder and member visitation, guests of local lodging properties, and maintaining uncrowded slopes for all guests to enjoy.”
Since going under new ownership, Windham Mountain has seen various changes. A membership, which costs $200,000 for a family, comes with an increasing amount of perks. It’s added more restaurants and amenities to appeal to potential members, who have exclusive access to some areas. Other facilities are planned for members, including a pool and racquet club. Windham has also made some controversial choices over the past few years, including the permanent closure of their mountain biking park.
Ultimately, it seems like Windham’s target market is locals and members of the new Club. Those outside the parameters are likely going to find it too pricey to make it worth it, which seems to be the intention.
