Corbet's Couloir Tool Shed entry @ Jackson Hole.

Gimbal God, A.K.A. Spenny, took a rather unique approach to Corbet’s Couloir during Kings & Queens at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Rather than sending the usually air or goat path into the legendary run, the snowboarder descended down a narrow crack known as the “Tool Shed.”

It certainly wasn’t the fastest or cleanest entry and his board and gear probably got quite a bit scratched up, but it’s the one of the few times we’ve seen someone take this approach. Pretty fascinating route.

Corbet’s Couloir is often regarded as one of the most famous ski runs in the world, featuring a 20-foot drop and 50-degree pitch to create one of the steepest ski slopes in North America. The couloir is home to a host of highlight reals and crash clips, with a perfect viewing area above the run and the Ariel Tram passing by making for great sights.

Jackson Hole’s Guide To Skiing Corbet’s Couloir:

“To tackle Corbet’s Couloir, start by planning your trip to Jackson Hole and brushing up on your skills. JHMR offers a Steep and Deep camp designed to help skiers master advanced techniques. OnceG you arrive, take a few moments to watch how seasoned skiers approach the run—it’s a perfect mix of skill and style (see the video below). Even experienced skiers find Corbet’s challenging, so only highly experienced skiers and riders should attempt to ski the Couloir. If you hope to ski the Couloir one day, but need to brush up on your skills, check out our Terrain Parks.“
