Welch, Minnesota — The 2025-26 season is shaping up to be a great one for Welch Village.

Last week, Welch Village announced that they will be adding a new chairlift. A new quad chairlift will replace the Skilink double chairlift. It will have a different alignment compared to the previous chairlift, going up where the rope tow is currently situated. Located next to the beginner magic carpets, this new chairlift will give beginners a reliable spot to continue to grow their skills.

The other major change coming to the Welch Village is the relocation of the terrain park. It’s being moved from next to the far right section of the mountain to Heidi’s Hollow piste. This will be a steeper pitch compared to the current terrain park, helping the park crew create a more elaborate setup. To make this new area a great spot for a terrain park, Welch Village will be doing regrading work on the Heidi’s Hollow trail. In addition, the rope tow will be moved over to the new park.

With over 50 runs, Welch Village is among the largest ski resorts in Minnesota. Opened back in 1965 by the Nelson family, it currently features 140 skiable acres, a vertical drop of 360 feet, and 11 (soon to be 12) lifts.
