Climbing coach nearly kills professional climber.

Sara ALqunaibet is a professional climber from Saudi Arabia. While at a professional training camp with French coaches, she suffered a 13 meter (42.5 feet) fall that broke her back and both of her feet.

The fall occurred during a warm-up on the lead wall. Sara reached the top reached the top and let go, expecting the belayer to catch her. Unfortunately the professional belayer was busy chatting and wasn’t holding the GriGri correctly, leading to the horrific fall.

It’s pretty obvious that this fall is the belayer’s fault, but climber and video creator Ben still chose to analyze the fall to discover just about everything that went wrong. It includes interview clips with Sara, where she discusses how it happened.
