After delays due to dangerous conditions on the Kakhiani Face, the 2025 Freeride World Tour Georgia Pro is set to go down on Saturday, March 1. Kakhiani has now been deemed competition-ready and the stream will begin at 12:00pm local time (GET) with the first rider dropping at 12:15pm local time (GET)/9:15am CET.
Efforts to secure the Kaseb face as an alternative venue stopped after significant sliding during stabilization work made it unfit for competition. Fortunately organizers have determined that Kakhiani is the safest option for the competition, conducting extensive avalanche control and safety checks along the face.
11 total athletes from the United States are set to compete in Georgia on Saturday, including athletes from California, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, and Massachusetts. This is the fourth of sixth stop in this year’s Freeride World Tour and marks the second to last event before the competition field is cut down for the finals.
“Last year, Kakhiani delivered some of the season’s boldest performances, and with these unique and evolving conditions, this year’s competition is shaping up to be another thrilling test of skill, creativity, and adaptability.” – Freeride World Tour
Those who hope to watch the event live will be able to stream on the Freeride World Tour website. Again, the stream begins at 12:00pm local time (GET) or 3:00am EST.
