Why do skiers always hate on snowboarders? Is it because skiers believe snowboards are dangerous? Is it because snowboarders always take too long to strap into their boards? Or is it because snowboarders have a habit of ripping all the snow off the side of the mountain as they scrape their way down the trail?
To be clear, I don’t actually dislike snowboarders, it’s just fun to make fun of them, as it’s funny when snowboarders make fun of skiers. But there is something to be said about snowboarders scraping all the snow off the run (skiers do it too, but it seems to be a lot less), and this video of a snowboarder taking the first drop into Corbet’s Couloir at Jackson Hole after a big snowfall doesn’t seem to be helping.
All jokes aside, the snow probably would have scraped away to that extent whether it was a skier or a snowboarder, that’s just the nature of the run. As the guy in the vide says, the snow really didn’t last long.
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s How To Ski Corbet’s Couloir:
“To tackle Corbet’s Couloir, start by planning your trip to Jackson Hole and brushing up on your skills. JHMR offers a Steep and Deep camp designed to help skiers master advanced techniques. Once you arrive, take a few moments to watch how seasoned skiers approach the run—it’s a perfect mix of skill and style (see the video below). Even experienced skiers find Corbet’s challenging, so only highly experienced skiers and riders should attempt to ski the Couloir. If you hope to ski the Couloir one day, but need to brush up on your skills, check out our Terrain Parks.“
