Mount Snow in Vermont is a great New England resort, featuring a vertical drop of 1,700 feet, 19 lifts, 85 trails, and 601 total acres of skiable terrain. While it might appear to be not much more than a good classic ski resort, Mount Snow is home to a sport trend that’s a little bit different than what we’re used to.
“Jack Jumping” look a little bit like sledding, with participants sitting in a sort of stool with a ski underneath. It looks like it would be remarkably hard to control, but the Jack Jumpers of Mount Snow are big into the sport, competing in major races and having several world champions.
“Richard is at Mt. Snow in Vermont to witness the sport of Jack Jumping. While no one can agree on who invented it, everyone who tries it can agree that it’s a wildly fun ride. Jack Jumping involves riding a seat saddled to a ski down the mountain. It’s a speedy, adrenaline-inducing ride that’s accessible to all ages.“
