It hasn’t necessarily felt like the most legendary ski season in history across North America, at least not yet, but one Colorado ski resort seems to be hitting it big time, storm after storm.
Copper Mountain has already seen 165 inches of snowfall this season, making for a base depth of 55 inches. While there are other resorts across the west that have seen more, Copper seems to have gotten the most snowfall of any Colorado resort at this point.
By around this time last year, Copper was nowhere near 13 feet, and now they’re reaching towards 14. Their average annual snowfall reaches 305 inches, and the mountain will likely see plenty more snow through January, February, March, April, and potentially into May. So far this month, Copper has seen 20 inches.
They aren’t the only Colorado ski resort with a great amount of snow, though. Granby Ranch, as an example, claims they have a base depth of 57 inches, while Winter Park has a base depth around 50 inches and has seen a total of 138 inches through this season.
