If you are looking for deep turns and live in the Northwest, Mt Bachelor is the place to go after racking up 30 inches of fresh snow in the past 24 hours. The recent influx of precipitation brings their base depth to up to a respectable 93 inches for the year.

Winds will be strong and likely effect chairlift operations at the central Oregon resort so plan ahead and be patient. Mt Bachelor is also reminding guests that tree well dangers will be high today so ride with a partner and keep them in line of sight at all times. Have fun, be safe, shred pow!

Beware: Snow immersion suffocation (SIS) and tree well risk are HIGH today. Ski or ride with a partner and keep them in sight at all times. Stick to open, groomed trails to minimize SIS hazards. Educate yourself on deep snow safety here: https://www.deepsnowsafety.org/

7:00am Update: We’re met with 9” on the snowstake this morning, bringing base depth up to 93”. With forecasts calling for an additional 3-6” today, the 100” mark is just around the corner. We’re experiencing strong winds that will likely impact lift operations today- check our lift and trail status for details. Temps are reading in the mid 20’s and are expected to top out just below freezing. Summit will remain closed for the storm in progress.

Check ODOT for real time road conditions, carry chains and know how to use them, and ensure your vehicle is equipped for winter driving. Given the large snowfall amounts forecast, high-clearance vehicles are recommended. Consider utilizing the available shuttle service for transportation to/from Bend.
