Franconia, New Hampshire  — We’ve got bad news for those who were hoping the new leg of the Cirque Series would be a tranquil walk in the park.
This week, the Cirque Series announced its 2025 events. The trail running event has participants race up and down ski resorts to take home prizes and bragging rights. Probably the most notable one coming next year will happen at New Hampshire’s best ski resort.
On June 7th, the Cirque Series will host a race at Cannon Mountain. Participants will start at the Peabody base area, and then wind their way over to the Aerial Tram’s base terminal. From there, participants climb up the steep and rocky Kinsman Ridge hiking trail in order to get to the top of the tram. Once racers reach the tram’s top terminal, contestants will cross the Cannonball chairlift and run down the Upper Ravine ski trail, then climb up Upper Hardscrabble to reach The Saddle. From there, the participants will climb to Mittersill’s summit, speed down to that base area, and then traverse back over to Cannon’s Peabody base area. Ultimately, the course has a length of 6.61 miles and a total vertical climb of 3386 feet. If doing something like this somehow sounds appealing, you can register for the event here.
The other events in the Cirque Series next year include Killington on June 28th, Snowbird on July 12th, Alyeska on July 26th, Alta on August 23rd, Grand Targhee on August 30th, Arapahoe Basin on September 6th, and Crystal Mountain on September 20th.
