The Matterhorn is easily one of the most famous mountains in the world. At 14,692 feet (4,478 meters), the mountain towers over the Swiss town of Zermatt, creating a base for one of the worlds’ most popular mountain destinations. It was first summited on July 14, 1865 by a large team of mountaineers, and it remains a major bucket list climb for adventurers around the world.
YouTuber Clark Drone Films flew his drone from the base of the legendary mountain, along the ridge line, past the Solvay Hut, and to the summit. From there, he turns around and rips back down, giving a view of how remarkably steep the mountain really is. It’s all put together in this clip, fully in real time with no cuts.
“Experience this astonishing full flight (no cuts & in real time), where my custom-build 7″ FPV Drone reaches the summit of the infamous Matterhorn in the winter, where we achieve a truly unique view of the peak. Then we plummet down the ridge, losing hundreds of metres of altitude in seconds while coming nail-bitingly close to certain drone death.“
