Robotic dogs @ Chinese Ski Resort
Robotic dogs @ Chinese Ski Resort

Futuristic news out of Northeast China where a fleet of robotic quadruped dogs equipped with advanced sensors and imaging technology have been deployed on the slopes of Lotus Mountain Ski Resort in Jilin Providence.

The robots autonomously patrol the resort to monitor for potential hazards using using infrared and 3D imaging. This might currently be a bit of a gimmick but its not difficult to imagine a future where autonomous robots could work alongside humans at ski resorts across the world.

This isn’t the only place in Northern China where you might robotic dogs working in the mountains. They are also being tested at Mount Taishan, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, where the dogs were strapped with bins and shuttled trash down the 6,660 steps from the summit.
