LINE Skis just announced they are making snowboards, and no it’s not April 1st.
LINE Skis started out as garage brand in upstate New York back in 1995 where Jason Levinthal appropriated the University of Buffalo wood shop to make his first skis. Back in the day, resources were scarce so Levinthal resorted to heating up water using a Coleman stove to pump through copper pipes to heat and cure epoxy while applying pressure with a tire jack. His first pair of twin-tips were crafted with scavenged materials including old ski edges, wood core, and plastic donated from a local snowboard company “Function.”
Nearly 30 years later and LINE Skis is getting into the snowboard business with their first ever production board they are calling “The Lateral.” Its a park friendly board geared towards intermediate and beginner riders and is available now in 148, 152 and 156. For nearly three decades, LINE has been at the forefront of freestyle skiing, born out of a desire to bring the creativity and freedom of snowboarding into the world of skiing. Now, we’re bringing that vision full circle with our first-ever snowboard: The Lateral.
Why a snowboard, you ask? Because between skiing, skating, and snowboarding, our team has been showing us that as long as you’re out there for the fun of it, it doesn’t matter what you’re riding. The Lateral is more than just a board; it’s a tribute to the sport that inspired us and a celebration of the creative crossover between skiing and snowboarding.
Designed for intermediate and beginner riders, the Lateral features a jib-friendly shape, flex, and camber profile ideal for carving groomers or cruising the park. Whether you’re looking to learn something new or just switch things up, gear up with the LINE Lateral.
