SWITZERLAND – There are a fair number of abandoned ski lifts and gondolas scattered throughout Switzerland. It makes sense, given the mountainous nature of the country. While it’s certainly sad to see these buildings and structures wither away, they can present unique opportunities for the wildest of athletes. Wingsuit pilot Johannes Grasser, for example.
“After our Täschhorn expedition, Mario and I were in good shape, so we decided to take on another alpine mission: for me, the most beautiful wingsuit line in the Swiss Alps. I’ll be posting the footage in the next few days. On this flight, we did a fly-by at an abandoned gondola station. After landing, we climbed back up to jump from the station itself, which is shown in this video. Do you know which mountain I’m talking about?“
JoHannes is quite the wingsuit pilot, jumping off incredible summits and other features. He’s also BASE jumped from a rope swing in Brazil and, just a few months ago, flew directly over a full cable car system. Imagine enjoying a stunning lunch in the mountains just for man to literally fly overhead. I would be awestruck.
