Salomon adaptive project develops groundbreaking prosthetic technology.

Details are bit sparse on these new adaptive ski and snowboard boots developed by Salomon, but one look at the designs and you will quickly gain an appreciation that they have been hard at work creating state of the art technology catering to the needs snow sports athletes with disabilities.

“Through the Salomon Adaptive project, we’re making strides toward a future where the outdoors is accessible to all, no matter the physical challenges. It’s all about creating possibilities for everyone.”

After extensive research and testing with Hopper and Airbus to develop prosthetics for running, Solomon expanded the scope of the project to other teams that led to the creation of these cutting edge ski and snowboard boots. Cheers to the folks at Salomon!

Here is a statement from Salomon’s LinkedIn:

It’s all about creating possibilities for everyone.

The Salomon Adaptive project shows how innovation and inclusion can transform sports. By designing groundbreaking prosthetics, we’re enhancing the lives of athletes with disabilities and inspiring new conversations about accessibility.

After months of research and testing with Hopper and Airbus to develop a running prosthetic, Salomon expanded the project to other teams, leading to the creation of ski and snowboard prosthetics and a range of clothing.

Patrick LEICK initiated the Adaptive project at Salomon, and Sylvain Merlin joined him to expand it for winter sports equipment. They will officially present the project and the prosthetics at our Champs-Élysées store today, along with their “Para-Team”, composed of individuals with disabilities.

Join us as we look back on this inspiring project that saw incredible engagement from our employees. Together, we are using the power of design to change perceptions of disability and empower individuals to rediscover the joy of outdoor activities.
