Alta, Utah – One of the most challenging things for employed people is to figure out how to get out of work and onto the slopes on a quality ski day. It’s a little easier for school kids, who can call in sick without much ramifications (depending on how good of a student you are). All you need is a willing parent or random stranger to help you.

Take this example from last season. Instagrammer @jjadventures2024 was riding on the Supreme chairlift and asked a stranger to help him ditch a few school classes. He got a random guy on the chairlift to call into his Utah school to request an absence for two class periods. Whoever’s on the other side of the line doesn’t hear the bumpy signature Supreme lift sounds and confirms the absence.

Based on the location, I imagine whoever manages absences at this school frequently sees this kind of situation.
