Bolton, Vermont — Another year, another devastating flood for Vermont.

One year and a day after the catastrophic floods across the state of Vermont, northern Vermont saw heavy rain due to the remnants of Hurricane Beryl. This led to widespread damage, including major road erosion, perhaps best demonstrated by Bolton Valley’s Access Road.

The flooding washed out parts of the steep and windy Bolton Access Road, which leads to Bolton Valley Resort. The road was closed on Thursday and part of Friday.

Bolton Valley gave an update on Friday, announcing that their access road would reopen in the afternoon/evening. Their mountain biking park, which is their signature summer attraction, reopened Saturday at 10 a.m. Parts of the road remain one lane and/or feature stoplights as crews begin to make extensive repairs.
