Eden, Utah- Powder Mountain closed for the season on April 7th. Since then, they have begun work on some monumental projects. Four chairlifts will be installed this summer as work begins on what will become a public-private ski resort experiment. Among these new projects is the replacement of the Timberline chairlift. The old fixed-grip triple chairlift is being replaced by a new fixed-grip quad chairlift.

As many resorts tend to do when they retire a chairlift, they’re auctioning off Timberline’s old 56 – 105 chairs. The online auction will commence on April 29th at 12 p.m., and conclude Sunday, May 12th at midnight. During the prior auction, the average cost was $2700 for a chair.

The proceeds will go towards the Community Foundation of Ogden Valley (CFOV). This non-profit aims to improve the lives of those who are based around the Ogden Valley. The last auction round raised $62,550 for CFOV, as Powder Mountain aims to raise over $100,000 overall for the foundation.

If you do win, you’ll have to pick it up at Powder Mountain from July 10th to 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Trucks, trailers, or box trucks are recommended, as the chairs are 9 feet long, 5 feet 6in wide, and 3 ft deep.

You can register for the auction here.
