COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colorado – Colorado’s Copper Mountain officially has a closing date, wrapping up one of its longest seasons ever on May 12. According to a press release from the resort, Copper will celebrate the closing date with two weekends full of DJs in Center Village.
Starting on Monday, May 6, skiing and riding will be limited to the Center Village area, with the American Eagle lift giving riders access to the mountain. Four terrain parks, including a hike option, will remain open. The 22-foot Superpipe, a cross course, and several rail and jump features are available.
Starbucks and Jack’s Slopeside Grill will continue to offer food options until the end of the season, and all interior parking lots are free to closing day, excluding Ten Mile. Day tickets are currently available starting at just $99.
Copper announced a season extension in mid-April, committing to remaining open as late as late as possible. Through the month of April, the resort received 60 inches of new snowfall, including aa remarkable 18 inches on April 16.
“The influx of late season snow paired with Copper’s high elevation and north facing aspect has made for a well preserved snow surface. With this being one of Copper’s longest season’s ever, we hope skiers and riders take advantage of the primo conditions and log as many days on the slopes as they can.” – Copper Mountain
