Jackson, Wyoming- During the offseason, ski resorts try to attract crowds through various techniques, including summer attractions, festivals, and concerts. Bringing in big musical acts can be costly for ski resorts, but more are starting to do just that.

Snow King Mountain Resort in Jackson, Wyoming has rapidly modernized the ski resort over the past decade, including a new gondola to the summit. In 2022, Snow King started the King Concerts series, which brings guests up to the summit to take in some musical performances. This summer, Snow King is having their biggest concert series yet.

Some of the biggest names from this summer’s lineup include the String Cheese Incident, Stephen Marley, the Old Crow Medicine Show, Blues Traveler, Portugal. The Man, and Cypress Hill. Tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased here.

Guests will also have the chance to experience the new Snow King Observatory and Planterium, which will have its grand opening on June 1st. The facility will have a 24-foot AstroHaven dome, 1 meter Planewave telescope, dark sky tours, and a thirty seat planeterium.

For Snow King, growing its offseason activities is vital to its long-term viability. In an 2023 interview with the Cowboy State Daily, the Wyoming ski resort said that it had been losing $500,000 from its winter operations. This concert series, along with the upcoming additions of the observatory and planetarium, will help build up revenue, and continue to grow Snow King as a destination for skiers and tourists.
