Jackson Hole, Wyoming- Moose sightings around Jackson Hole have been all over the news lately, as several viral videos showed a scared moose darting down trails at the mountain. So what happens when a third-party presidential candidate and a snowboarding legend see one at Jackson Hole? The answer is a not-well-thought-out Instagram post.

For those who don’t know about Robert F. Kennedy Jr., he’s an environmental lawyer turned third-party Presidential candidate. Some of his viewpoints are a bit out there, but he’s on the rise in the polls because people are tired of the same terrible options our two major political parties are giving us. He’s also an avid skier, previously shredding with snowboarding legend Torah Bright.

Travis Rice doesn’t need much introduction, as he is a two X Games gold medalist, and was picked by Snowboarder Magazine in 2007 as the thirteenth most influential snowboarder over the last twenty years.

Which brings us to this post. In RFK Jr. and Travis Rice’s Instagram post, two of the photos show them within feet of a moose. Unsurprisingly, they got called out for it in the comment section:

I’m somewhat shocked an environmental lawyer doesn’t know that you should be at least 25 yards (75 feet) away from a moose.
