Some of the most important ski resort workers are not human beings.

Dogs help out ski patrols that need assistance with avalanche rescues. These animals’ instincts have helped rescue people who have been caught in avalanche slides.

Bee was one of the dogs that gave her all to Telluride. The thirteen-year-old dog spent ten years working at Telluride. Last year, her handlers Gary & Kim Richard decided it was time for retirement.

In honor of her work, Telluride’s ski patrol recently hosted a hot dog party for Bee. This included food and treats. Bee even made an appearance, looking as adorable as ever. I imagine Bee got a whole lot of belly rubs for her hard work.

Currently, there are seven avalanche dogs on Telluride’s ski patrol. Click here to learn more about Telluride’s avalanche dogs.
