An under-the-radar Alberta ski resort is about to get its first-ever detachable high-speed chairlift.

On Sunday, December 31st, Castle Mountain Resort announced that they had acquired a used detachable high-speed quad chairlift. This chairlift is currently situated at Sunshine Village, where it’s known as the Angel Express Quad Chairlift. Sunshine Village is selling the Angel Express because they will be installing a new bubble chairlift this summer.

“We are excited to be acquiring such a great lift from a reputable industry partner,” said Dean Parkinson, who’s the General Manager of Castle Mountain Resort. “It is a great thing to be keeping this lift in Alberta and we appreciate Sunshine’s willingness to work with us, on this purchase.”

The location of the chairlift, or whether it will replace one of their current lifts, has yet to be officially announced. A timeline for the construction and the opening of the chairlift has also yet to be announced.
